FAQs

Why should we invest more in to wedding photography?

Photography is such an important investment. You're paying for so much more than just the photographer's time on the wedding day.

When you book with me you'll be assured experience from 120+ weddings, constantly observing and knowing exactly where to be to get the perfect shot.

Each year I invest £1000's back in to my business, keeping up to date with the latest equipment and software, finding new inspiration through workshops and travelling to always provide the best.

After the wedding day is when most of the work is done. Putting love and care in to each individual photograph takes a lot of time, before putting these together to create an authentic story of your day.

Wedding photography is an investment that pays off for years to come and the one thing I believe you shouldn't cut corners on.

Will we meet before the wedding day?

Yes! We will meet up closer to your wedding day once you know your final plans for the day.

If you're over seas or unable to meet in person, I'll be happy to video call.

Are you insured?

Yes. As a full time, professional photographer, I am fully insured for both professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

Do you have backup equipment?

Of course!

One of the main reasons for investing more in to your photographer is for their experience and own investment made back in to their business.

On the day, I'm fully backed up with multiple camera bodies, lenses and memory cards. My go to kit is the Canon R5 / 35mm.

After the day, I have a second back up of your photographs for 12 months as an extra precaution.

Should we provide a meal at the reception?

Yes please!

Full day weddings are pretty non-stop, so I would be very grateful if you were able to provide a meal.

I don't often have much time before I need to be up and shooting again, so having a main meal at the same time as you and your guests is ideal.

When will we see the photographs?

Editing takes a lot of time to create my perfect style and these memories can't be rushed. I do absolutely everything myself from start to finish to keep the experience solely personal. So in the height of wedding season, it gets a little busy!

I send over a sneak peak as soon as I can after the day, for you to have a little something to share with family and friends straight away.

Your full gallery of photographs will be ready 12 weeks after your wedding day.

How many photographs should we expect?

For a full wedding day, you can expect 500+ photographs. Every wedding is different, which means that number will vary depending on the schedule of your day, how your guests interact and whether there is a second photographer. However, I aim for quality over quantity to create a consistent and beautiful gallery for you.

Can we see the raw, unedited files?

The images selected for editing and final delivery reflect my consistent style and artistic process. Any rejected files are duplicates or outtakes that do not meet my high standards and will no longer be archived.

The raw files will not be available for viewing or purchase. These files are an unfinished product that cannot be opened without supporting editing software.

If I cancel my wedding, is the retainer refundable?

The retainer is non-refundable. This guarantees that I’ll hold the date exclusively for you and turn down any other enquiries.

What if you’re ill or have to cancel for any reason?

In the unlikely event I cannot go ahead as your Photographer, I will do what I can to find a stand in for the day of the wedding who I trust and is a similar style to myself.

If I am unable to continue with the contract entirely, the full amount of money received will be returned to the client.

If anything were to happen on the day, I carry a close contacts card in my camera bag to refer to in case of any emergency big or small.

Who owns the copyright of the photographs?

The copyright of the photographs always remains with the photographer. I license my clients the right to produce the images in any way you wish as long as I'm credited. You cannot use the photographs for commercial re-sale.

Do you use a second photographer?

I usually work solo at weddings. Although for larger events, where I simply cannot be in two places at once, an additional photographer might be a good idea. For example, to photograph your partner in the morning or to get that 2nd angle at the ceremony.

I will need enough time in advance to make arrangements for a second photographer who fits well. So if you're considering this, please let me know asap!

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes! I love to travel and shoot in new places. Get in touch for a chat about your plans and I'll put together a bespoke quote.

Do you offer by the hour photography?

For intimate weddings, I offer a half day package or by the hour for weekday/off-season weddings.

Get in touch for a chat about your plans!

Can we provide you with a shot list?

Giving me creative control will be the best decision you can make! Every wedding is different and my best photographs come from constantly observing and capturing what happens naturally.

If there's a photograph you'd be sad not to have then definitely let me know, otherwise I love creating memories that are unique to your day.

Can our wedding guests take photos?

Of course! No one is ever in my way. I work around guests or even use guests to frame a shot.

My only request is guests keep phones away as much as possible, whilst they are apart of the moment. i.e. throwing confetti in the aisle.

How do couple portraits work?

The couple portraits are some of my favourite photographs of the day. It’s your first moment alone together as a married couple. We will take a short time away, walk around the venue grounds or drive to a nearby location.

If possible, I like to do these in two short, 20 minute sessions after the ceremony and again at sunset/dusk. This keeps it quick and easy so you don't miss the party!

What if the weather's not looking good?

Don't worry about a back up plan! What ever the weather, we'll make it work and still have a lot of fun!
